What is the production process of traffic signs?
(I) Base plate production
- Metal cutting: The production of aluminum alloy signboards is carried out by shearing, cutting or welding, riveting according to the size of the signboard drawing, and rounding and punching according to requirements. These processes are completed before applying the reflective film. The shearing edge should be smooth, and the punching position should be correct and smooth to prevent scratches and distortion.
- Surface treatment of aluminum alloy plates:Alkaline degreasing: All aluminum alloy plates are immersed in alkaline detergent for cleaning, and then rinsed thoroughly with clean water. Finally, blow dry with warm air or use infrared drying.
After cleaning, check whether there are any stains on the surface of the aluminum plate. Dirty aluminum plates must be rewashed. After the cleaning process is completed until the reflective film is applied, the aluminum plate must not be touched directly by hand, and it should not come into contact with grease or other dirt.
(II) Pasting reflective film
- The front and back of the base film of the signboard (except LED light-emitting signs) are both made of engineering-grade reflective film; the front side of the character film is high-strength grade, and the back side is engineering-grade film. Screen printing technology is used, and the layout fonts are computer engraving technology. All fonts and patterns cannot be spliced.
- When pasting reflective film, you can adopt corresponding methods according to the different types of reflective film. Several points to note during the pasting process:
- When cutting reflective film, making characters, and screen printing, you must pay attention to the directional arrows that appear regularly on the surface of the reflective film to ensure that the directional arrows (or diamond patterns) on the final sign surface are horizontal or vertical.
Use tape to position during the film pasting process. If there is residual glue left after removing the tape, use a mild solvent (such as ethanol, etc.) to remove the residual glue.
(III) Construction of signs
(1) Foundation construction:
- The foundation should be excavated by open excavation at the designated location according to the dimensions specified in the design drawing. The base should be leveled and compacted first, and the elevation should be well controlled. The foundation pit should be backfilled and compacted in layers.
- When encountering a flat curve section during construction, the direction of the embedded flange can be appropriately adjusted to keep the sign board perpendicular to the driver’s line of sight.
- When pouring concrete, pay attention to aligning the positioning flange with the foundation and embedding it into the foundation (its upper surface is flush with the top surface of the foundation), while keeping its top surface horizontal, and the embedded anchor bolts should be kept perpendicular to it.
(2) Installation of sign and support
1. The sign support structure should be manufactured according to the requirements of the design drawing. Before arriving at the construction site, the quality of the welding points and the integrity of the structure should be checked and trial installed.
2. Installation of single-column signs
The pillars must be installed after the concrete has been cured for at least seven days.
The pillars are connected to the foundation through flanges. After cleaning the bottom flange and the anchor bolt threads, stand the pillar upright and insert the anchor bolts from the screw holes of the flange. Adjust the direction and verticality before tightening the bolts, and finally tighten the anchor bolts.
After the pillars are installed, the sign board can be installed. The sliding bolts are inserted through the slide grooves in the reinforcement ribs, and the sign board is fixed to the pillars through the clamps.
After the sign board is installed, the flatness of the board surface should be adjusted and the installation angle should be adjusted.
