Since 2014, the design of the new license plate to be used by all Mercosur countries was officially presented, Mercosur is including Parana, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Mato Grosso do Sul, Ceara, Sergipe, Rio Grande do Sul, Distrito Federal, Bahia, Para, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Goias, Pernambuco, Rio de Janerio, Plaui, Santa Catarina, Paraiba, Espirito Santo, Alagoas, Tocantins, Rio Grande do Norte, Acre, Roraima, Rodonia and Ampa.
As recent update news from the National Transit Council (CONTRAN) on June 28th, 2019, there is a new postponement of the date for Mercosur’s plates to be adopted in all Brazilian states, it will delay to 2010. However, the new license plate will only carry on new vehicles, or existing vehicles moving between cities or states, or if the existing plates have been stolen.
