German Car Blank License Plate

The German blank license plate is a kind of semi-finished license plate. According to the different requirements in countries, XW Reflective also supports laser mark printing & graphic inner printing to make car license number plate production easier. For the inner printing, which has better durability than digital printing on the surface, and is cost-saving as well.

Application:

This German blank license plate is used for making German license plate makers who have the equipment to do the embossing and painting/hot stamping, and who are with registration plate supplying permit.

Leading Time of Blank Car License Plate

For car license plate designs, which are different for each country, normally we don’t have stock on such special products. The lead time could be around 40 days. If for the white/yellow one without any other special requirements, the lead time will be shorter. Please confirm with XW Reflective team before order placing.

Parameters Requirements

The German Blank car license plate requires the reflective license plate film can pass the IOS 7591 certification, which has specific requirements for the reflective film for the number plate.

Coefficient of retroreflection

Test Method : ASTM E810 – Test Distance 30.m

Test the reflective license plate film at the observation angle  0.20° (0° 12＇), when the entrance angle is +5°, the coefficient of retroreflection should be higher than 45 cd/Lx/m², which means the minimum coefficient of retroreflection should be 45 cd/Lx/m².

Our XW8200 series reflective license plate sheeting is passed the IOS 7591, test the coefficient of retroreflection under observation angles at 0.20° (0° 12＇), 0.33° (0° 20＇), 1.5° (1° 30＇), the entrance angles at +5°, +30°,+40°.

For the coefficient of retroreflection, the license plate must keep the reflection ability after meeting harsh weather such as heavy rain, thus the reflective license plate film also needs to test the reflection in the rainfall, the requirement of coefficient of retroreflection

Our xw8200 series retroreflective sheeting films meet the coefficient of retroreflection requirements of the coefficient, with excellent reflective features and no obvious fading of retroreflection when meeting the rainfall.

The uniformity of retroreflection

Besides upon requirement of the coefficient of retroreflection, the uniformity of retroreflection also is an important parameter for the reflective license plate. ISO 7591 also has a requirement in the ratio of highest to lowest shall not exceed 2, test method also is ASTM E810 -Test Distance 30.5m.

Samples were masked using black cloth and a paper with a 50mm * 50mm square viewing area hole cut out. Samples were divided into 5 equal parts and retroreflection measurements performed with the viewing area placed at the center of each part.

Daytime color, luminance and nighttime color

In addition to the retroreflection parameter, the reflective license plate film also has requirements in colors and luminance, resistance and good adhesion to the substrate. All of these parameters have certain requirements in ISO7591 certification, meanwhile, the strict requirements in ISO 7591 almost contain all requirements of license plate reflective film in many countries.

Daytime color, luminance and nighttime color are tested by observing the reflective sheeting film at different angles with the spectropolarimeter.
