The reflective sheeting is classified by prismatic and enclosed glass beaded type, both can be used for road safety and personal safety, in 1939, 3M launched Engineer grade reflective sheeting, as enclosed beaded sheeting, it is popular in the graphics industry for letters, shapes, and designs cut in the material, in 1971, 3M introduced high-intensity grade reflective sheeting, it is good for sign backgrounds, since cutting the film opens up the cells and allows water intrude, thus it is not often using for letters or shapes. Prismatic started in 2963 by the American Rowland brothers, this was done in cooperation with Luce Reflexite and later with Fresnel Optics, these companies were later merged together, was patented in 2970 and called Reflexite. Glass bead - ( Engineer Grade /High-Intensity Grade ) 1) Engineer Grade Glass Bead Reflective Tape- Type 1 EG retro-reflective tape is a type 1 material with glass beads providing the reflection. Which is recommended for viewer within 50 yards of the tape. 2) High-Intensity Glass Bead Reflective Tape-Type 3 The high-intensity grade glass beads are contained in little honeycomb chambers with an air space above them. This arrangement makes for a brighter tape. Recommended for applications where the viewer is within 100 yards of the tape. Micro-prismatic - ( Non Metalized Micro-Prismatic / Metalized Micro-Prismatic ) 1) Non Metalized Micro-Prismatic Reflective Tape- Type 4 The non-metalized micro-prismatic tape is made by laminating a layer of prismatic film onto a honeycomb grid and white backing.This film is visible from much farther away than high intensity or engineer grades. 2) Metalized Micro-Prismatic Reflective Tape- Type 5 Metalized micro-prismatic reflective film is coating the back of a micro-prismatic layer with a mirror coating and then applying adhesive and a release liner to the back. This material can be used for various areas as well as those where the viewer is in more than 100 yards from the sheeting. In most cases, it can be seen from over 1000 feet away. Which make it excellent for highway applications or where the tape will be shining through snow or rain. The national government announced that the implementation of a new format of license plate for car and motorcycle should take effect from the 1st of January, 2016. All the Mercosur members agreed to this decision, and so there is a unique license plate requirement in Mercosur. Although a license plate is unique to vehicles, at times it is a big challenge to get all valid information about the owners. Screen printing is the most multipurpose process and is utilized on different mediums like paper, board, metal, fabrics, plastics, glass, nylon, cotton and reflective sheeting as well. The products produced with screen printing include posters, labels, signage and all types of textiles and electronic boards. The main merit that makes screen printing stand apart from other printing process methods is that it can work on different surfaces of any shape or size and also a thicker ink can be used. These features facilitate some of the very interesting designs which are not possible with other forms of printing. With its widespread use, what you may not know that it is one of the oldest forms of printing and is also known by other names such as silkscreen, serigraphy, and serigraph printing. How does screen printing work? When screen printing was first developed, the screens used were made of silk, hence the name silkscreen printing, but today the screens used are made of synthetic polyester mesh. To start with the screen printing, the first step is pre-processing the mesh-the mesh is immersed in a purpose-mixed light-sensitive emulsion and left to dry in a dark room. The second step, once the emulsion has set, a dark print-out negative or non-transparent stencil cut-outs of the design are placed onto the mesh and exposed to intense ultraviolet light. The light hardens the emulsion further, but the dark color or stencil cut-out prevent the light from reaching it. The third step, the mesh is then washed with water rinsing away the non-hardened areas, leaving membrane gaps creating a pattern through which ink will be squeezed. The mesh screen is now ready for use. The mesh is placed onto the substrate to be printed and clamped down. A small reservoir of ink is placed on the screen and a blade or squeegee is used to spread the ink across the screen so that it flows onto the stencil cut-out and a reverse stroke of the blade then causes the screen to touch the substrate. This causes the ink to move onto the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicolored image or design. Advantages of Screen Printing  Versatility Out of all the printing processes, screen printing is arguably the most versatile because it can be used to print on a great variety of substrates. It is not only effective for the flat surfaces, but also on curved, spherical, and concave surfaces.
